At the end of fiscal year on June 30, no food supply contractors got any order from the hospital authorities due to absence of tender calling officials in the hospital and thus the food for patients, physicians and staff was closed.
In the circumstances Narayanganj-5 constituency law maker AKM Selim Osman took the responsibility to provide three times food for patients and all staff in the hospital.
Selim Osman provided food on July 1, which was received by chief assistant Nasrin Sultana, office assistant Sohel Rana, kitchen officer Mahabubul Alam and kitchen assistant Monir Hossain.
Dr. Goutom Roy, superintendent of Khanpur hospital, said no food tender related person was available due to the hamper of tendering procedure so; there happened non supply of food to the hospital.
The hospital chief told that the law maker provided food three times on July 1 and if the authorities fail to supply food, the law maker would continue his help until the completion of food tendering procedure.
However, after a long delay and profound anxiety of the patients and the dwellers of Narayanganj, law maker AKM Selim Osman formally inaugurated ten Intensive Care Unit beds treatment facility in Khanpur hospital on July 1.
