MP Hanif inaugurates foundation of IU halls

Mahbubul Alam Hanif, member of parliament and Joint Secretary general of  Bangladesh Awami League inaugurated foundation stones of two 10 storied male and female halls of Islamic University IU in Kushtia on Wednesday.

He laid foundation stones as the chief guest in an inauguration function held in front of Lalon Shah hall on the campus on Wednesday morning. Prof Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam, VC of the university, presided over the stones laying inauguration programme while its pro VC Prof Dr Mahbubur Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr Alamgir Hossen Bhuiyan attended at the event as the special guests.

Dr Mithun Mostafiz, chairman of the Folklore Studies department, conducted the ceremony and Former treasurer of the university was present here as the guest of honor.

IU BCL unit leaders including Faisal Siddique Arafat, Mizanur Rahman Lalon. Towkir Mahfuz Masud congratulated the Pro-AL leader with a flower boat and over thousand BCL activists of the unit took part in the programme.

Earlier, Hanif (MP) placed floral wreaths at the feet o f the Mrittunjoyee Mujib moral and planted saplings near the university central football grounds on the campus. Prof Dr Jahangir Hossen, acting president of IU Bangabandhu Parishad unit and proctor, its vice president Prof Dr Anowar Hossain, secretary Prof Dr Mahbubul Arfin were present, among others.
