Lawmaker from Jhenidah-4 constituency Anwarul Azim Anar distributed financial assistance among 94 storm affected families of Armukhi village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila on Thursday. About a hundred houses and hundreds of trees were uprooted in the storm swept over the village on Tuesday evening.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenaidah Mozibor Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Selim Reza, Upazila parishad chairman Abdur Rashid, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Shahin and Naldanga union parishad chairman Kabir Hossain among others remain present.
During the assistance distribution DC Mozibor Rahman said the government of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been standing by the people when they need. He urged upon the affected people to take the challenge of the natural calamities where the government support will be continued.
District administration authority said each of the storm-affected families have received Taka five thousand. Earlier they were provided dry foods by the authority.
