MoU signed between IU and Australian university over research

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia and Edith Cowan University (ECU) of Australia to promote educational cooperation and research.

The MoU signining ceremony was held at the university’s administrative building on Tuesday noon.

IU treasurer Professor Dr Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan and Edith Cowan University Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) Mr Jake Garman signed the MoU on behalf of their respective universities.

IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam, Pro-vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, acting registrar HM Ali Hasan, IU International Students Affairs Cell (ISAC) director Professor Dr M Abu Hena Mostofa Jamal and Senior Lecturer Dr Syed Mohammed Shamsul Islam of Edith Cowan University, Australia were present at the signing ceremony.

IU Proctor Professor Dr Shahadat Hossain Azad, student advisor Professor Dr Shelina Nasrin, transport administrator Professor Dr Anowar Hossain, IUTA present Professor Dr Jahangir Hossain and secretary Professor Dr Tapan Kumar Gooder, Biological Science faculty dean Professor Dr Rezuanul Islam, law department chairman Professor Dr Reba Mondol and law administrator of the University Dr Anisur Rahman were also present on the occasion.

The parties of the MoU agree to continue the development of programs and services in specific areas of mutual interest including seminars, workshops, conferences, collaborative research projects, staff and student mobility opportunities; including internship, teaching and training, collaborative research and/or joint research activities and projects for both universities.
