Most coveted BPL set to kick-off

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket 2024, the most coveted T20 franchise cricket event of the country, is just ten days away, and excitement among fans is high. The 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 is set to kick off on January 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur.

The opening day will feature a high-voltage encounter between the star-studded and the holders, the Comilla Victorians and Durdanto Dhaka. The celebrated event of seven teams will see 46 matches take place across 42 days of competition, with three host venues staging the action: Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium, and Chattogram.

Cricket fanatics will be able to watch live telecasts of the BPL matches from different venues through T-Sports and GTV.

However, the franchise teams have already fabricated their teams, roping some of the world stars and very illustrious characters of the T20 franchise across the globe.

Fans want to catch a glimpse of some of the cricket superstars throughout the tournament, and the thrilling action is accompanied by a vibrant festival atmosphere at all the venues. Andre Russell, one of the most glamorous T20 formats in the world, will play for the defending champions, the Comilla Victorians, who also played a vital role last season to make the Comilla champions.

The pace-bowling all-rounder Russell, who played 112 matches in the IPL, the highest number of matches in a franchise league, scored 2262 runs at a 29 batting average with a 174 striking rate when earlier he played the BPL for the Khulna Royal Bengals.

The Jamaican world-class seam bowler has been playing for 30 franchise teams across the world so far.

The West Indian national team is one of the most excited and entertaining players; fans expect the big hitter and the match winner in the BPL.

Sunil Narine, another West Indian veteran, has also been playing franchise cricket all over the world, and this time he is also coming to play for the Comilla Victorians.

Another West Indian hitter, Nicolas Pooran, will play in the BPL when the entertainer crickets for the Rangpur Riders.

Rashid Khan, one of the most recognized spin bowlers, has been playing franchise cricket all over the world. One of the most formidable Afghan spin all-rounders would look forward to playing for the holders, the Comilla Victorians. Rashid was signed by the franchise BPL winners after he played a crucial role in winning the title last year. 

Moeen Ali, another big name in all formats of world cricket, would also play in the BPL. The English bowling all-rounder is a regular face in the biggest franchise league in the world. Babar Azam, the Pakistani batter, will participate in the BPL 2024, but the Pakistani batter is not a drafted player. He was signed up directly by Rangpur Riders.
