Mosque-based child edu program continues in Chandpur

Mosque-based children and mass education programmes is continuing in eight upazilas of Chandpur. 

Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) is conducting this children and mass education programes at 1,236 mosques at the upazilas.

Md. Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Director of Chandpur Islamic Foundation, confirmed the matter on Thursday.

According to the sources, there are 4,842 mosques in Chandpur. But Children and mass education programs are being run in 1,236 mosques at different upazilas in the district.

From this project, children can learn basic idea on pre-primary education. 

They are being taught language skills of Arabic, Bangla, and English for one year. They are also taught how to recite the holy Quran appropriately with moral knowledge.

The Imams or Khatibs of the mosques have been appointed as teachers by the Islamic Foundation. 

Every admitted students will be provided all kinds of educational materials. Khalilur Rahman said that besides religious education, children are getting moral knowledge as well as general education through the project of mosque-based children and mass education programs. In addition, children and mass education programme is running on 73,768 mosques across the country.
