We strongly condemn the deadly terror attack on a Moscow concert hall on Friday that killed more than 143 and wounded over 100. Attackers dressed in camouflage uniforms entered the Crocus City venue ahead of the start of a rock concert, opened fire and threw a grenade or incendiary bomb, according to international news agencies and newspapers.

We extended our deep condolences to those killed in the barbaric attack and expressed our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family members. We also pray early recovery of wounded victims.

The images of the gun attack are just horrible and just hard to watch. We think it was a ‘planned terrorist attack’ possibly targeting ‘large gatherings’ in Moscow.

In an address to the nation, Russian President Vladimir Putin called it ‘a bloody, barbaric terrorist act’ and said all four people who were directly involved had been taken into custody. The attack, which was the deadliest in Russia in years, came just days after Putin cemented his grip on power in a highly orchestrated electoral landslide and as the country’s war in Ukraine dragged into a third year.

We want to see

punishment

of those who are behind

 the ‘barbaric attack’

We the Bangali nation always oppose all form of terrorism, strongly condemns the terrorist attack and firmly supports the Russian government’s efforts to safeguard its national security and stability. We want to see punishment of those who are behind the ‘barbaric attack’. The Islamic State group wrote on Telegram Saturday that the attack was ‘carried out by four IS fighters armed with machine guns, a pistol, knives and firebombs,’ as part of  ‘the raging war’ with ‘countries fighting Islam’.

All the perpetrators, organisers and those who ordered this crime must be justly and inevitably punished. We also are urging all states to cooperate actively with the Russian government and other authorities to hold perpetrators and backers of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice. We express our support for President Vladimir Putin and raise our voice to categorically reject any act of violence. We always reject any act of violence against civilian lives. We the Bangali nation always stand in solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief.
