Although insurance is a financial institution, service is the main task of the sector. People's confidence on insurance must bring back by accountability and transparency of this sector.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian said these while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of two-day long Insurance Fair organised by Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA) at Circuit House in Khulna on Friday.
She also said Bangabandhu was also a member of insurance family. Government takes initiative for the development of insurance and make insurance a service-oriented by insurance policy-2014. Besides, 1st March has been declared as the National Insurance Day.
Chairman of IDRA Md Shafiqur Rahman Patwari presided over the programme while Khulna Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader spoke there as special guest. Joint Secretary of Financial Division Md Humayun Kabir, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Mohammad Helal Hossain, Additional Police Commissioner SM Fazlur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Insurance Forum BM Yousuf Ali and member of IDRA Dr M Mosharrof Hossain were also present at the time.
