Assistant professor of Sociology and assistant provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Mohammad Moniruzamman Khan has been appointed as the new Provost of this Hall in Shahjalal University of Science and Technology(SUST). Deputy registrar of the university Ynus Ali informed this by a notice on Wednesday.
It is mentioned in the notice that the provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman hall associate professor of Public Administration Mohammad Samiul Islam has been exempted from 08-01-2023 due to academic leave. Moniruzzaman Khan will be directed to perform the duties of the provost until further notice.
The notice also mentions that he will be entitled to pay allowances and other benefits as per rules for performing his duties.
This order will be effective from January 9.
On the other hands, Prizes were distributed among the winners of the essay and quiz competition organized on Martyrs Intellectual Day and Victory Day in same hall. The award was distributed in the TV room of Bangabandhu Hall at eight o'clock that night on Tuesday.
By chair of Mohammad Samiul Islam, Provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Treasure Anwarul Islam spoke as the chief guest. He said, I thanked the hall authorities for successfully completing the competition. I also Appreciate their initiative in arranging prize distribution among the winners.
Among others the university teachers' association and the president of the Bangladesh university teachers' federation Professor Dr Akhtarul Islam, Director of Student Advice and Guidance Amina Parveen, University Proctor Ishrat Ibn Ismail, Head of Economics Department Professor Zahir Uddin Ahmed and Provosts and Assistant Provosts of various halls.
