Moni elected EC member

Saifur Rahman Moni elected as the 15th executive of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) when he defeated his compititors Ekhlas Uddin in a closely contested re-election of the BFF on Saturday. 

Moni was elected as the last member of BFF EC committee when he secured 56 votes out of 107 exercise their votes in the re-election and the former national striker survived with just five votes. 

Saifur Rahman Moni and Ekhlas Uddin, president of the Chuadanga District Football Association tied with securing equal 61 votes in the BFF election was held on 26th October, as there needed a re-eletion to have the last EC member.

The chief election commissioner of the BFF Mejbah Uddin aanounced the result right after 15 minutes of casting the votes. Mejbah informed the reporters that out of 133 councilors, 107 exercised their votting power and were legal when Moni secured 56 and Ekhlas Uddin could manage 56 votes.

Moni, former nationa colour was also one of the executive members of the recen past committee of the BFF. 

Moni is also the coach of the Chittagong Abahani, one of the Bangladesh Premier League teams, after being elected, when talking to the reporters said, “I will do the duty will be entrusted on me by the BFF, but coaching is my profession. So there will be no chance of conflict of interest.”

Replying to a query, if the any of the executives would present at the dugout during a match, certainly there would be a question that his presence may influence on referee. Moni said, in this case, I will follow the BFF rules.”
