Mojibul Haque becomes MP for 5th time

Former Rail Minister and General Secretary of district Awami League, Cumilla South Unit Mojibul Haque Mujib, Awami League candidate for Cumilla-11 seat has been elected from Cumilla-11 seat for the consecutive fifth time. He secured 1, 81678 votes.

His nearest contestant former poura mayor Mizanur Rahman got 22, 700 votes. The difference of votes was 1,58, 978. 

Besides, Gono Forum candidate Abdur Rahman of Rising Sun symbol got 292 votes, BNF candidate Jasim Uddin (Television) 152 votes, Trinamool BNP candidate Md Elias Mojumder (Sonali Ash) bagged 388 votes, Islami Oikya Jote candidate Md Morshed Alam (Minar) 990 votes, Independent candidate Nizam Uddin (Vulture) 1412 votes, and Md Mustafa Kamal (Plough) 2298 votes.

JP Dewan, UNO and Assistant Returning Officer confirmed the information. 

The total votes of the constituency were 3, 93, 805. The cast votes were 2, 09, 906. Among the total 125 polling centres, the results of 19 have been declared and that of six centres were suspended.
