The policemen in bordering Moheshpur had foiled a robbery bid and arrested six of the robbers while they were preparing for robbery at village Jalilpur Bazer in the upazila. They were arrested with truck for carrying the looted goods and some instruments meant for robbery purposes.
The arrested are Samrat Hossain, 30, Mona alias Munna, 31, Rasel Sheikh, 24, Munna Khan, 24, Alamin Hossain, 25, and Sahamat Matubbar. All of the arrested belong to Bhola and Phultala upazila in Khulna.
Moheshpur police station officer in charge Saiful Islam said they had conducted drive when the robbers equipped with a truck were preparing for committing robbery in local Jalilpur market.
They managed to grill all the six robbers from the spot. There was a number of cases against the arrested with different police stations. They were sent to a Jhenaidah court on Monday noon, police man said.
