Moheshpur BGB detains 110 people from border in 42 days

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Moheshpur frontier of Jhenaidah have detained a total of 110 persons including women and children in last 42 days. 

The BGB personnel also detained five of the brokers involved in trespassing the Bangladeshi nationals during the time, said director of the BGB 58 battalion Lieutenant Colonel Qamrul Ahsan.

He also said Baghadanga border observation pharee (BOP) personnel in the mid night of Wednesday detained 19 persons from neat the  border pillar number 60/35 at Bagahdanga Purbapara. Of the detained six were women and two children. 

The detained belong to Khulna, Jashore, Narail, Kushtia and Bagerhat. They could not produce any valid documents to the border guards when they were challenged. The detainees informed the BGB personnel that they were attempting trespass to neighboring India with the help of local brokers reside around the bordering area. The BGB personnel also detained two brokers and two auto-rickshaws used for carrying the detained from the area.
