Mobile court raids pvt hospital, 8 diag centres in Chuadanga

Tk 1.60 lakh realized as fine

Executive Magistrates, Chuadanga Health Department and Consumer Rights Protection Department conducted mobile courts at different clinics, diagnostic centres in Chuadanga district town, Jibannagar Upazila town and Karpashdanga Bazaar under Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district during the last 12 days (from March 1 to March 12) as per the direction of the Ministry of Health and Directorate of Health Department and realized Tk 1,60,000 as fine from 1 private hospital and 8 diagnostic centres.

Knowledgeable persons said, no mobile court has been conducted in Alamdanga Upazila town, Damurhuda Upazila town, Darshana Thana town up to date. Besides, diagnostic centres have been set up in different bazars under 4 upazilas of the district. 

Sazol Ahmed, Assistant Director of Chuadanga Consumer Rights Protection Department told this correspondent, gradually mobile courts will be conducted in the said areas. 

On March 1, a mobile court, led by Sazol Ahmed, Assistant Director, Chuadanga Consumer Rights Protection Department, raided all diagnostic centres and private hospitals in Jibannagar upazila town. After examining all documents, the court realized Tk 70,000 as fine from the owners of Al Hera Diagnostic Centre, Life Care Doctors Chamber and Desh Diagnostic Centres. 

Al Hera Diagnostic Centres paid Tk 30,000, Al Hera Diagnostic Centre Tk 30,000 and Life Care Doctors Chamber Tk 10,000. The court sealed Life Care Doctors Chamber for 7 days. 

Dr Mostafizur Rahman, RMO of Jibannagar Health Complex, Anisur Rahman, Sanitary Inspector of Health Department and Soikot Ahmed, Sub-Inspector of Jibannagar Police station were present during the Mobile Court operation. 

On March 10, Chuadanga Health Department and Executive Magistrate conducted mobile court at different diagnostic centres and private hospitals in Chuadanga district town. The court found shortage of documents at Akhitara Nursing Institute and General Hospital, as the court fined the owner Tk 10,000 on the day. 

Dr Aulior Rahman, CS, (Incharge), Sazzad Hossain, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, members of Police were present during the mobile court drive. 

Sazol Kumar Das, AC (land) and Executive Magistrate of Damurhuda upazila, conducted the mobile court on the day.

 Dr. Helena Akhtar Nipa, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and a team of police were present during the drive.
