Two executive magistrates from the Kurigram district administration conducted separate mobile court drives at Kurigram General Hospital, local diagnostic centers, and three pharmacies.
Executive Magistrate Md. Badruzzaman Rishad fined two diagnostic centers a total of Tk 1,10,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 for various violations, including patient mismanagement, lack of proper documentation, expired reagents, and unhygienic conditions.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique led another drive at three pharmacies near the DC Park area by Dharla Bridge.
A total fine of Tk 22,500 was imposed under the Drug and Cosmetics Act, 2023 for selling expired and unapproved medicines, including physician samples, without proper prescriptions. Kurigram Drug Superintendent Md. Hafizur Rahman Mia assisted as prosecutor.
