Five institutions were fined 1 lakh and 25 thousand taka during a mobile court operation in Navaron bazar area of Sharsha upazila in Jashore on Monday. Sharsha Upazila AC (Land) Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, who conducted the operation, said that the drive was conducted on five different institutions of Navaran Bazar.
During the raid, it was seen that the sweet shops were making sweets in unhealthy conditions. The Syed Hotel was fined Tk 10,000 and Satkhira Ghosh Dairy was fined Tk 20,000 for this reason. Ekota bakery was fined 40 thousand taka and Ashikur bakery was fined 35 thousand taka for producing and storing food items in unhygienic conditions. Later, a pharmacy named Mukul Pharmacy was fined 20 thousand taka for storing date-expired medicines.
The five institutions were instructed to fix everything within the next month. Mobile court operation of the Upazila administration on all types of adulteration and irregularities would continue, the AC (Land) said.
