Mobile court conducts raids at vermicelli factory

A mobile court on Wednesday raided an unauthorized hand sanitizer factory and a vermicelli factory in Bogura. In a separate operation at Matidali in Bogra town, a fine of Tk 1.5 lakh was collected.  Executive Magistrate of the district administration GM Rashedul Islam conducted the mobile court with the members of RAB-12 Bogra. 

It is learned that during a raid on the storage of Matidali Blade Factory in Bogra on  Wednesday, a large quantity of illegal hand sanitizers were recovered of unapproved "Phoenix" hand sanitizer factory owned by New Shah Amanat Chemicals.

New Shah Amanat Chemical Unit One Bangladesh owner Mottakim Dolan, son of late Chan Miah of Matidali area, was fined Tk 1 lakh in cash for making unauthorized hand sanitizer and was sentenced to one year imprisonment without pay. On the other hand, in the area of South Vrindavan Para of Bogra city, a raid was carried out on Akbar Vermicelli factory.

Meanwhile, under the Consumer Rights Act, Akbar Vermicelli factory owner Aminur Islam was fined Tk 50,000 for making vermicelli in a dirty and unhygenic environment. During the operation, RAB members including RAB-12 acting company commander Raushan Ali took part.
