Missing Mohona TV journo found in Sunamganj

A journalist of private television channel Mohona TV, who remained missing since Saturday evening, was found in Sunamganj Sadar upazila early on Tuesday.

Police rescued Mohona TV’s staff reporter FM Mushfiqur Rahman from Gobindapur area at the upazila, said Jinnatul Islam, a sub-inspector of Sunamganj Sadar Police Station.

Locals found him lying in front of a mosque in the morning and informed the police. Imam of the mosque first found him lying in front of the mosque and informed locals.  Unidentified people left him in front of the mosque and signs of physical torture was also seen in his body, SI Jannatul Islam said.

He was admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital, he added.

Mushfiqur went missing on Saturday evening when he was returning home from Gulshan-1 after meeting his uncle. A general diary was later filed with Gulshan Police Station.

Earlier, Mushfiqur received a life-threatening phone call on July 21, and filed a general diary with Pallabi Police Station the next day.
