Police on Sunday recovered the body of a child who went missing a day ago, from a pond in Bangatuli village of Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon.
The deceased was identified as Julfikar Hasan Joy, 12, son of Hazrat Ali of the village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliadangi Police Station Hasibul Alam said Joy went out of his home on Saturday noon and remained traceless since then.
Later, his body was spotted floating in the pond, he said. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, OC said.
