A teenager named Abdul Awal (18) was beaten to death by miscreants at Islampur upazila in Jamalpur. Police recovered his body from Chatla village in Charputimari union of the upazila around 11am on Sunday.
According to police and local sources, Awal left the house at around 7 pm on Saturday to go to the market. When he did not return home at night, his family members did not search for him and they all fell asleep. On Sunday morning, the locals saw the body of the teenager lying next to the house. Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the morgue of Jamalpur General Hospital for autopsy.
Jamalpur Assistant Superintendent of Police Sumon Mia said that the family members claimed there was no dispute with Awal. The murder of the teenager is not yet known.
However, the matter is under investigation. Signs of injuries were found on various parts of the teenager's body. Preparations are underway to file a case in this regard.
