A minor girl was strangulated to death after rape at village Parkrisnopur at Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Sumaiya Khatun, 7, daughter of Nasiruddin of village in Damurhuda upazila of the district.
According to Sukumar Biswas, OC of Damurhuda police station and family sources Sumaiya went out of her home for playing at about 5 pm. She did not come back home till 8 pm on February 1. Her parents and other relatives began to trace her out, at one stage they found her body lying on the crop field. On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body last night and sent the body for post-mortem that day. A case was filed with Damurhuda police station. Sukumar Biswas OC said primary injuries of rape are seen on her body.
