A minor child of class three was raped by an adolescent at Basudevpur area under Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur district on October-17 noon. Father of the victim has filed a case under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act with Bherdarganj police station.
The accused rapist Shishir Fakir is the son of Idris Fakir of Basudevpur area under Narayanpur union of the upazila and a student of class eight of a local kindergarten.
According to the case statement on October-17 noon, Shishir lured the child to offer chocolate and took her to a nearby garden and raped her there. He also threatened the child not to disclose the incident to anyone. But, due to excessive bleeding after the incident, the child became seriously ill when she was admitted to a local clinic.
Shishir being the cousin of the child, the families tried to hush up the incident locally. But, ultimately the incident was known to the local people when on Saturday afternoon father of the child lodged a case under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act with the local police station.
Additional Assistant Senior Superintendent of Police of Bhedarganj circle Aminur Rahman informed a case has been filed on the allegation of the rape of a child. On Sunday the medical test of the victim was performed at Shariatpur Sadar Hospital. The accused is absconding since after the incident. Police were trying to arrest him.
