Ayesha Siddique Minni, who was sentenced to death in the much-discussed Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna, has been sent to Kashimpur Women's Central Jail. She was shifted from Barguna District Jail to Kashimpur on Thursday.
Super of Barguna District Jail Md. Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter. He said that there was no proper arrangement to keep women prisoners on death row in Barguna district jail. For this reason, Minni has been shifted to Kashimpur Central Women's Jail as per the decision of the higher authorities. He said five other male prisoners sentenced to death in the case are still in the Barguna district jail.
The Barguna District and Sessions Judge's Court pronounced the verdict of 10 adult accused in the Rifat Sharif murder case discussed on September 30. The court ordered the execution of six accused, including Rifat's wife Ayesha Siddique Minni.
Minni has been lodged in the women's condom cell of Barguna District Jail since the verdict.
