Minibus, auto-rickshaw collision, 4 killed

Four people, including a woman were killed in a head-on collision between an auto rickshaw and a passenger minibus in Cox’s Bazar on the morning of Wednesday around 11 am.  

The accident took place at the ATM Jafar Alam Arakan Road (Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road) of Lomba Bill area adjacent to Unchiprang under Huaikyong Union of Teknaf upazila, informed SI (in-charge) Nure Alam of Huaikyong police outpost. 

However, he could not immediately inform the names and identities of the victims. The deceased were all passengers of the auto rickshaw. 

Citing locals, SI Nure Alam said in the morning a minibus of local Palki Poribohon carrying passengers was heading towards Cox’s Bazar. It collided with an auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at Lomba Bill area adjacent to Unchiprang under Huaikyong Union of Teknaf. 

Three people, including a woman, were killed on the spot and one was injured. The injured person was rescued by the locals and taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. 

According to the SI, the bodies of the three deceased were kept at Huaikyong police outpost and the body of the other deceased was at the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. The auto rickshaw was twisted in the accident.
