World Milk Day-2021 was celebrated in Kashiani and Muksudpur upazilas of Gopalganj in due manner with the theme ‘Drink a glass of milk every day, increase immunity’.
To this end, on Wednesday morning, packaged pasteurized liquid milk and T-shirts were distributed among 200 students of Barashur Government Primary School No. 3 in Kashiani Upazila. A similar event was also held at Muksudpur at noon.
The program was organized by Barashur Government Primary School President and UP Chairman Mashiur Rahman Khan. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana was present as the chief guest and distributed the packaged milk and T-shirts among the students.
Gopalganj District Livestock Officer Dr Aziz Al Mamun presided over the programme while, Kashiani Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rathindra Nath Roy, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sajia Shahnaz Tama, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Manabendra Majumder, Executive Magistrate Mamun Khan, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Manabendra Majumdar, Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Azizur Rahman and others were present.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Dairy Day-2021, the district livestock department has implemented a day-long fair in Tungipara and Kotalipara upazilas on June 1 and a day-long fair will be organized on June 8 in Nilah ground of Gopalganj Sadar upazila.
