Traditional Khonar Bachan, the theme of self learned woman Khona a few hundred years back, had expressed her opinion that the rainfall in the late Magh (early February) brings wealth and prosperity of the state. After the long time, the words are knocking the doors of the country when the people of Jhenidah witnessed mild rainfall with cold wave in mid of the Bengali month Magh that was some early.
The town dwellers said they have been witnessing the mild rain and cold since the morning of Wednesday. Although it has been hampering the normal movement of the office goers and students of school, college and other institutions have been suffering, it had removed the dense dust from the roads. Further it might be blessings to standing crops like Boro paddy, wheat and vegetables. In the other hand, the day labourers including the rickshaw and rickshaw van peddlers were affected for few hours when they could not move in the roads due to rainfall and cold.
