A memorandum was handed over to Pabna Deputy Commissioner demanding removal of illegal structures on Ichhamati river according to the CS map and implementation of excavation activities on Sunday.
President of Ichhamati River Rescue Movement SM Mahbub Alam and General Secretary Alhaj Habibur Rahman Habib handed over the memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Kabir Mahmud on the occasion of World Rivers Day.
Prominent personalities of the city including academics, journalists and NGO representatives were present on the occasion.
The memorandum called for speedy implementation of the excavation work of the Ichhamati River flowing through the city.
