Following a bitter experience in the Test, Bangladesh will begin their ODI series from tomorrow against Sri Lanka under the new captain of the format Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The Tigers, who have been in discomfort situation for last few months after a string of disappointing results in all three formats, is going to play the ODI series.

Apart from losing the Test series including an innings defeat in the second Test, they  suffered six one dayers at a stretch and T20 series to UAE and Pakistan, they went Sri Lanka with all these bitter experiences to play the ODI series.

Meanwhile, since the last ODI World Cup, Bangladesh played 23 ODIs, losing 17 and slipped to their lowest position, 10th in the ICC ranking, in nearly two decades.

So, amid all these challenges Mehidy Miraz set to lead the side, as the pressure rebuild and it will be difficult for the new captain to restore confidence.

Miraz, although has experiences of leading the team in absence of running captain, but this time the scenario is different.

Though this time there were no big controversy surrounding the team selection of dropping any of big names, only but questions with no room for Nurul Hasan Sohan or batting allrounder Mosaddek Hossain.

It would be a tough series for the Tigers no doubt to get rid of the recent failures.

But the return of the pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed and exprienced Mustafizur Rahman will be a big boost up for the team.

Taskin, returned after more than four months when he last played for Bangladesh in Champions Trophy in February after which he was ruled out due to an injury.

He had been in a rehab in this period before getting the nod to comeback to action in International cricket.

Taskin after making his comeback from injury has already joined the team in net practice at home and now in Sri Lanka.

Taskin after his comeback and ahead of leaving the country for Sri Lanka expressed his eagerness to bestow his best for the team’s success and expected of winning the series - “I want to play an important role in my team's victory. I believe we will win the series. I am very excited. I feel very good to be back to action after three months.
