Meherpur journos begin 7-day protest prog for fellows

Local journalists of Meherpur began observance of a seven-day protest programme  demanding justice for their two fellows who were beaten inside the Meherpur Social Service Office. As part of their programme, the journalists will bring out a silent procession today (Tuesday.   

The journalists in Meherpur gathered to protest the incident of two journalist being beaten at Meherpur Social Service Office on Monday. 

As part of a seven-day programme, the protest rally was held on Monday morning in front of the Meherpur Deputy Commissioner's office for the first day.

Earlier, journalists gathered in front of Meherpur Press Club and took part in a silent procession. All the journalists of print and electronic media working in the three upazilas of the district took part in this movement.

Led by senior journalist Ruhul Quddus Tito, the rally was addressed by SA TV District Correspondent Fazlul Haque Montu, BTV District Correspondent Alamin Hossain, Banglavision Correspondent Tuhin Aranya and others.

On last Sunday, Meherpur District Social Services Department Deputy Director Abdul Quader beat Abu Akhtar Karan, District Corresponden of DBC Channel and Zakir Hossain, District Correspondent of BD Reuters when they went to the office for information.
