Deputy Minister for Water Resources, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim has said, ‘‘We have taken a mega project to protect 7.8 kilometers of Kushiyara bank, while 176 kilometers area of the river will be dredged.
He said this on Thursday during his visit at flood affected areas at Nabiganj upazila in Habaganj. State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman also visited flood hit areas.
During their visit, Dr Enamur Rahman and AKM Enamul Haque Shamim joined several progrmame and distributed relief goods among the flood affected people.
Dr Enamur Rahman said that relief goods will be provided among the flood hit people.
The state minister and the deputy minister visited Digalbak, Aushkani, Inatganj and some other parts of the upazila.
MP from Habiganj-1 Gazi Mohammad Shah Newaj Milad, former woman MP Asmatul Kibria Keya Chowdhury and others were present at the time.
