Meeting on early marriage held in Chuadanga

A views-exchange meeting on preventing early marriage with marriage registers was held at SP Office Conference Room of Chuadanga district police on Saturday.

The meeting was presided over by Chuadanga Police Super Mohammad Jahidul Islam. Abu Tareque, Additional Superintendent of Police (administration), Konok Kumar Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (sadar) and Maruf Hasan, DIO-1 and 56 marriage registers attended at the meeting.

Abu Tareque, Additional SP (administration), Mohammad Shamsul  Hoque, President of Chuadanga District Marriage Register Association and Abdul HoqueAbbasy, vice president of the association addressed at the meeting.

Jahidul Islam, SP, urged upon the marriage registers not to solemnize below the age 18 years of bride and age 21 years of bridegroom. He also stated that people have opportunity to advise others to go in right way, so they should follow that for the interest of the society.

“People have to follow the rules of government and the Quran and Sunnah in marriage registration,” he added
