An advocacy meeting was held on Friday at the Civil Surgeon's Office in Jamalpur in the light of the theme, ‘Don’t eat Junk food, Street food and get rid of many diseases’.
Jamalpur Civil Surgeon Pranoy Kanti Das was present as the chief guest at the meeting held in the conference room of Dr. Nazrul Islam. Mohij Uddin Mia, Assistant Head of the Administration and Training Department of Health Education Bureau spoke as the keynote speaker.
District Senior Health Education Officer Khandaker Badrul Alam presented the concept paper at the meeting. Junior Health Education Officer Anisur Rahman conducted the programme.
District Safe Food Officer Shakib Hossain, Director of Human Resources of Unnayan Sangha Journalist Jahangir Selim, Jamalpur Municipality Councilor Rajib Singh Saha, Police Officer Manibur Rahman, College Teacher Tariqul Ferdous and others took part in the meeting.
Earlier, with the help of the Health Education Bureau, Ajmer International conducted anti-junk food, street food and anti-open food mike campaigns in the city. The speakers urged everyone to avoid junk food, street food, open food to protect themselves from cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other deadly diseases. Public awareness as well as law enforcement is demanded in this regard.
