A medical student, who was on a trip to Bandarban for camping at hill, was killed due to convulsions at Alikadam in Bandarban on early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Iftekhar Ahmmed Abid, 20, a first-year student of Bogura Ziaur Rahman Medical College, son of Helal Uddin, resident of Gandhina area under Kalihati Upazila in Tangail.
Nafiz Hasan Nahid, friend of the deceased, said that they (12 friends) went on a trip at Maraitong hill for camping to enjoy the Eid holidays. Suddenly, Iftekhar Ahmmed Abid started feeling unwell and was suffering from convulsions at around 12:30am on the day. His friends took him to Lama Hospital at around 1:00am where on duty doctor declared him dead.
Doctor of Lama Upazila Health Complex emergency department Junayed said a tourist named Abid was brought in the hospital at around 1:30am. He died before reaching to the hospital.
Lama Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shamim Sheikh confirmed the matter and said the body was kept at the police station. Besides, the legal procedures will be taken after talking to the family of the deceased.
