Panchagarh District Commissioner Md. Sabet Ali has said on Monday that Tetulia holds a key position in the development of tourism in the district, with nearly one-third of its potential centred in the area. He noted that every winter, large numbers of tourists visit Tetulia to view the majestic Kanchenjunga from Bangladeshi soil. In addition to this unique view, the region also offers attractions such as flatland tea gardens, the Banglabandha Zero Point, the Kazi & Kazi tea estate, and scenic views of India from the banks of the Mahananda River at Old Market Tetulia. The historic hilltop Dak Bungalow and the green, peaceful landscape also charm visitors.
To enhance Tetulia’s tourism sector, the district administration has planned several development projects, including the construction of a swimming pool, in response to local demands. DC Sabet Ali made these remarks on Monday at 5 pm while visiting various ongoing infrastructure projects in the area.
Earlier in the day, he visited the 5 No. Buraburi Union Parishad and several other locations including the Sky Library, Tetulia Shishusorgo School, Model Police Station, Picnic Corner, Dak Bungalow, Berang Complex, and Mahananda Park.
He also inspected the Dahuk River to address illegal stone dredging activities.
