‘MCC to work for women rights’

Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) has celebrated International Women's Day 2022 through various events. On the occasion of the day, a colorful procession started from Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday and ended on the Town Hall premises.

After the rally, Lucy Aktari Mahal, President of Mymensingh Women's Chamber of Commerce and Nasima Akter Mila, Director of Mymensingh Women's Chamber of Commerce inaugurated the five-day Women Entrepreneur Fair organized by City Corporation o the Town Hall premises. The fair will be open to all from 10 am to 8 pm every day till March 12. Lucy Aktari, president of the Women's Chamber, said at the inauguration, “Women have overcome all obstacles. The women are now rove in all cases. Today, women are also the pioneers of progress in keeping pace with men. All this has been possible under the timely leadership of Prime Minister.”

Nasima Akhter Mila, director of the Women's Chamber of Commerce, said it was possible for men and women to work together to take the country forward. There are many obstacles for women to move forward, which are being overcome under the leadership of Prime Minister. However, men must also come forward to ensure women's rights. President of the program Mymensingh City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Yusuf Ali said that under the leadership of Mayor Ikramul Haque Titu, Mymensingh City Corporation will be by its side in all initiatives to ensure the advancement of women rights. City Council Standing Committee on Women's Welfare Chairperson and 03 No Panel Mayor Samima Akhter and other councilors, Secretary Rajiv Kumar Sarkar and other officials, women entrepreneurs, political and social persons were present on the occasion.
