MCC holds Vitamin-A Plus campaign advocacy meeting

An advocacy meeting of National Vitamin-A Plus Campaign 2022 was held at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium on Wednesday at 11 am on the initiative of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC). It was presided over by Md Yusuf Ali, Chief Executive Officer of MCC.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEO said that maximum efforts should be made to ensure that no child is left out of the Vitamin A Plus campaign. Special care should be taken to ensure that no child of the floating population is left out. He directed to spread awareness about the success of the campaign through all possible means and urged the people to disseminate the information of the campaign from their personal level and encourage them to take vitamin capsules. The Chief Executive Officer further said that Mymensingh City Corporation has already achieved almost 100 per cent target in the Vitamin-A Plus campaign. Hon'ble Mayor Md. Ikramul Haque Titu has given overall instructions to conduct the campaign. 

It is hoped that with the preparation of City Corporation and the cooperation of all, it will be possible to achieve the target again. 9,341 children aged 6 to 11 months will be given a blue vitamin A capsule and 57,121 children aged 12 to 59 months will be given a red vitamin A in 301 centers in 33 wards of Mymensingh City Corporation from 12 to 16 June. Capsules will be fed.

City Corporation Secretary Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Director Health Office Assistant Director Dr Israt Jahan, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Parikshit Par, various NGO representatives, MCC Regional Executive Officer Dipayan Das Shuvo, Public Relations Officer Sheikh Mahabul Hossain Rajib, Medical Officers, various government agencies NGO representatives were also present.
