Mayor Taposh mourns DSCC maternity doctor Kaushiki

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has expressed deep grief over the death of Nibedita Ruchi Kaushiki, doctor of Nazira Bazaar Maternity Center under the health department of DSCC.

In a condolence message on Friday, Mayor Taposh said, “Dr Nibedita Ruchi Kaushiki was a dedicated physician. She was involved in providing obstetrics and gynecology services at Nazira Bazaar Maternity Center.”

He further said “Dr Kaushiki had always been diligent in carrying out her duties properly and she had been very responsible in providing medical services to the people of Dhaka, especially children from zero to five years of age. The Dhaka South City Corporation family mourns her death.”

Barrister Taposh prayed for eternal peace of her departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family 

Dr Nibedita contracted Covid-19 virus two months ago. After recovering from Covid-19, she rejoined her workplace.

However, a few days ago, she was first admitted to Monowara Hospital with post Covid symptoms. She was later admitted to BRB Hospital after suffering from various physical complications including anemia. 

She died on Friday while undergoing treatment there. She was 39 years old.

She joined the Metropolitan Children's Hospital under Dhaka South City Corporation in 2014 as a medical officer. In 2017, she was appointed at Nazira Bazaar Maternity Center in the same post.
