Farida Akhter, Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock of the interim government, said that Maulana Bhashani made Tangail known to the world.
She said Leaders like Maulana Bhashani are significant not just for Tangail but for all of Bangladesh. He has created a part of Bangladesh's history. Bangladesh would not have been born if Maulana Bhashani had not existed. He was a leader of the oppressed. It was Maulana Bhasani who went to protest against Farakka Barrage.
Adviser Farida Akhter came up with the assertion while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with members of Puja Udjapon Committee in Tangail on Monday. She also said that the only way for the upcoming generation to recognize Maulana Bhashani is by including him in the curriculum. I will inform the Ministry of Education about this matter.
In response to a question, she said Bangladesh is the most important place for hilsa fish. Our Coast Guard and Navy are on high alert. This time, they are even more vigilant. Hilsa fish smuggling happens, and it also happens overland. Everyone, including the BGB, is on alert in all areas. Deputy Commissioner of Tangail Sharifa Haque presided over the meeting. Members of district administration and police administration, along with leaders of Puja Udjapon Committee spoke at the meeting.
