Many students fail to get enrolled in sixth grade in Gopalganj schools

Being underaged, many students of Gopalganj are being deprived from getting enrolled in class-VI in the schools of Goplaganj. In online applications for admission, age of many students have not reached 11 that is why their applications are being rejected. The guardians of those students are in a fix under such situation. 

Goplaganj district Primary Education Department sources informed, in 2020 Academic Year, nearly 19,000 students were enrolled in class V and all of them were promoted in the next class considering the Corona situation. But class six students in many schools of the town including Uttar Gopalganj Government Primary School, Binapani Government Primary School, Maleka Academy, SM Model Primary School are failing to fillup their admission forms online due to age of those students have not reached to 11. 

Under such situation, guardians of the students are worried about the future of the offsprings.

According to sources, the online admission in class VI started from December-15 where the minimum age has been determined 11+ year. But, the age being less than age fixed in on-line applications, applications of many students have not been accepted. 

Meanwhile, the last date of online application for admission is on December-27. On December-30, the result of the successful candiates for admission will be determined through lottery. Khairul Anam Md. Afatabur Rahman Helali, District Education 

Officer of Goplaganj informed, according to National Education Policy-2010 ( Revised in 2019), the minimum age for admission of students in class one is+ year and accordingly the minimum age of admission of a student in classs-VI would be 11+ year. However, he contacted with his higher authorities regarding the problem of age of admission seekers of class VI but there was no chance of chance of violation of rules of the government rules of admission, he added.
