Farmers of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila have been cultivating different crops and vegetables according to advice of agriculture department through mobile phones and using pen drive to LED TV during the period of spreading coronavirus. Cultivation in Chuadanga sadar upazila is now under digitalizing system.
Swapon Ali, a farmer of village Hanurbaradi in the upazila said he has been cultivating kochu, shosha, watermelon and paddy on eight bighas of land. He talked over cell phone with sub assistant agriculture officer about the problems of crops and got solutions from him.
Daliluddin, a farmer of the same village, said he used pen drive through LED TV for learning the new techniques and new corps of agriculture.
Abdul Kader, a farmer of village Garabaria in the upazila stated we have set up an agriculture library and farmers' organisation office in the village. There are a LED TV and some agriculture related books. We watch agriculture related program and earn knowledge. Besides we read books for gathering knowledge about new methods of cultivation.
Hafez Abdul Kader Shohan, a stakeholder of cultivation of Chuadanga town, said he uses smart cell phone and uploaded some apps on taking care of garden from sadar upazila agriculture office. Accordingly he has been taking care of his garden.
Talha Jubayer Masrur, agriculture officer of Chuadanga sadar upazila, said we are trying to motivate the farmers using mobile phones and pen drive with TV for solving the problems of cultivation.
He also said we have hanged posters with name of sub assistant agriculture officers and their mobile numbers for contact by the farmers.
Afrin Binte Aziz, agriculture extension officer of sadar upazila, said agriculture officer and agriculture extension officer solve the agriculture related problems through video conference with sub assistant agriculture officers, farmers and others.
