Upazila administration locked down the village of Bailjuri in Ghior upazila of Manikganj on Wednesday. Besides, 28 members of six families of the village have been kept in home quarantine. Ghior Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Irene Akhter gave the order to lock down the village in the afternoon. For this purpose, upazila administration, police and health workers are working together in the village.
The UNO said a man named Alamgir Hossain who was staying in home quarantine died in the village on Tuesday. Meanwhile, corona panic spread among the people in the village after hearing the news of Alamgir Hossain’s death. On receiving the news, the administration declared lockdown of the entire Bailjuri village and put 28 people of 6 families of the neighborhood in home quarantine.
Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj SM Ferdous said, "Members of the IEDCR have taken the history of the deceased. It was reported that he was suffering from fever and had heart problems. Till now it is believed that he did not die of the coronavirus”.
