Man to die for killing wife in Narail

A Narail court on Monday awarded death penalty to man for killing his wife two years ago.  

Judge of District and Sessions Judge Court in Narail Munshi Mashiur Rahman pronounced the verdict in a crowded court. The court also fined the convict Tk 1,00,000. 

The convict is Enayet Mollah, son of Intaj Mollah of Makrail-Kashipur village at Lohagora upazila in Narail. 

Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Emdadul Islam said that they are happy for the judgement. 

According to the case statement, Enayet Mollah used to live with his wife at his father-in-law's house in Chandpur village of Narail Sadar upazila. Husband Enayet used to beat his wife Nargis for dowry.  On November 21 in 2018 midnight, Enayet beat his wife at his father-in-law's house. Nargis was beaten to death. 

Later, brother of the deceased Baku Mollah filed a case with Narail Sadar Police Station. Narail Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Rezaul Karim who also investigation officer of the case submitted charge-shet against him on April 2, 2019. After examining the record and witnesses, judge of district and session court handed down the verdict in presence of 

Enayet Mollah.
