A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his cousin at Ukhiya upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Tuesday morning. The incident took place around 10:30 am at Uttar Nidania village under Jaliapalong Union in the upazila. The victim was Sayed Karim, 46, a resident of that village. However, the accused Salamat Ullah, 38, in this incident, has not been arrested yet.

Ukhiyar Police Station officer-in-charge Shamim Hossain said that Sayed Karim was suddenly stabbed by his cousin Salamat Ullah at Tetultala in the morning due to previous enmity. He was rescued in critical condition and rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The body is at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added. The OC further said initially, it seemed that Shalamat Ullah stabbed Syed Karim on the basis of suspicion that Shayed Karim developed an extra marital affair with his wife. Salamat Ullah fled immediately after the incident.

Police are trying to nab him. However, police are working to find the main reason behind the murder, said the OC.
