Three people, including a father and son, were killed in lightning strike at Katlahar and Madhupur villages under Sonatala police station in Bogura on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Sumon Chandra Roy, 18, son of Subash Chandra Roy of Katlahar village, Siddique Hossain, 35, of Madhupur village and his son Siam Hossain, 10.
It has been reported that Sumon Chandra Roy was fishing under the bridge of Burar Daha canal near Katlahar village in the rain around 9 am. He died on the spot due to lightning strike.
On the other hand, Siddique and his son Siam were fishing in Matialir beel of Madhupur village around 12 noon and were injured by lightning strike.
When they were taken to Sonatala Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor declared them dead. Bogura's Sonatala police station Inspector (investigation) Zahid Hossain said the bodies of the three victims were handed over to their families.
