A man died and another sustained injuries in a lightning strike at Galimpur village under Bagatipara upazila in Natore in the early hours on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Hasnat Bhulu, 32, son of Jamal Pramanik of the same village.
Injured Rabbi Hassan, son of Abu Raihan of the same village, was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Moinul, sub-inspector of Bagatipara Police Station, said that the lightning hit Bhulu and Rabbi at about 2:00 am while they were guarding a Litchi orchard, Bhulu died on the spot and Rabbi got injured.
The storm that swept Sadar, Boraigram and Bagatipara upazilas damaged houses and uprooted many trees. The storm also damaged mango and litchi orchards in the upazilas, said locals.
