A motorcycle rider died in a bike crash on Postogola Bridge in the capital early on Saturday (September 2).
The driver lost control of the motorcycle and the victim named Farhadul Islam Shihab, 23, was hit by a bus after he fell off the bike.
Md Saiful Islam, sub-inspector of Shyampur Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media.
The road crash took place around 1:30am and during the fall; Shihab was hit by a passing bus, said the SI.
Saurav, 23, who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the accident, was also injured.
Later, both friends were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency unit by police.
At the hospital, medical personnel declared Shihab dead.
Shihab's body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy, while Saurav was taken to his residence in Jatrabari after primary medical treatment, said Saiful Islam.
