An old man died at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital on Wednesday (December 1) as he was allegedly poisoned through injection on November 29.
The deceased was identified as Shamsul Sheikh, 75, of village Belgachhi in ChuadangaPoura Area of the district.

The deceased man’s wife Sufia Khatun said their daughter’s daughter Komola Khatun was married with Hasan Ali of village Daliarpur in Damurhuda upazila of the district two years back. Hasan Ali used to torture Komola Khatun for dowry. They paid Tk 50,000 as dowry to him but, he recently demanded more money as dowry from them again but they failed to give it. So he came at their house and pushed injection using poison to Shamsul Sheikh. Dr Sazid Hasan, medical officer of Sadar Hospital said, how to death him, it will confirm after DNA test and postmortem. Mohammad Mohsin Ali, OC of Chuadanga Police Station said police investigation is going on. Not to confirm how he was killed. After getting the postmortem and DNA reports the police will take action.
He also added, the deceased son Rofiqul Islam made complain about the death of his father that his father was poisoned to death through injection.
