A man was crushed under the wheels of a speeding train on Saturday night at Bidirpur area in Chapainawabganj, reports BSS.
The victim was identified as Ismail Hossain 65, son of late Shamsuzzoha of Ganka Bidirpur.
Chapainawabganj Sadar Thana Officer in charge Ziaur Rahman said, the accident occurred while the victim was crossing the railway line at around 8-20 pm and suddenly Chapainawabganj bound Shuttle train ‘Dhumketu’ from Rajshahi approached there and hit him, leaving him seriously injured.
Locals rushed him to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital. Later, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital at around 10 pm, he said. The official also said that the dead body was handed over to the family of the deceased.
