A man reportedly committed suicide after killing his wife in Satkhira. The incident took place on Saturday night at Jailekhali Kaguchipara under Munshiganj union of Shyamnagar upazila in the district.
The deceased was identified as Sona Bibi, 40, daughter of Siraj Gazi of Kalinchi village of Shyamnagar upazila, and her husband Mannan Ghazi, 48, son of Sohrab Gazi of Kaguchipara village. Thee have two children.
Locals said that the couple engaged in a brawl on Saturday evening. As a result, the husband killed his wife with sharp weapons at night.
There are wounds on the neck and neck of the wife.
Locals found the body of Sona Bibi lying at their house while that of Mannan hanging from a tree near the house on Sunday morning, said sub-inspector of Shyamnagar Police Station.
He also said that police recovered an ax and cut hair from the scene.
Inspector (Investigation) of Shymnagar Police Station Yasin Alam said that Mannan might have hanged himself after killing his wife following a family feud.
