A man was critically injured after being attacked by a tiger at Sundarban Satkhira range on Saturday.
The injured was identified as Md Rezaul Islam Paik, 48, son of late Surot Paik, resident of Parshekhali village under Munshiganj union in Shyamnagar upazila of the district.
He was attacked at Sabed Ali canal in Sundarban at around 12 pm on Saturday.
Assistant Conservator of Forrest (ACF) of Sundarbans Satkhira range MKM Iqbal Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said Rezaul Paik went to a place called Sabed Ali canal, one kilometer away Tengrakhali area of Sundabans, without pass permit to collect fire woods for his family. At one point, the tiger attacked him around 12 pm as he was alone at that time. The tiger bite him in his throat. Rezaul Pike desperately started fighting for his life at that time. At one point, he hit the tiger in its mouth with the machete he had with him. The tiger let him go and left the place after that.
He came back to his house on own his own in critical condition. His family informed that Rezaul Islam Paik have impaired hearing.
